Information

        Deborah Anne Strange was born on May 19, 1966. Raised in Northwest Indiana, she was the eldest daughter of four girls. During her adolescent years, her bubbly personality, contagious laugh, and smile made her the life of the party. Her love for life was never more eminent than in her love for nature, animals, architecture, and the culinary arts. Her pursuit of the culinary arts led her to Purdue University, where in the fall of 2001, she would have received her Bachelor of Science degree in HTM. However, she did receive her degree posthumously in December 2001.

        In January 2000, Debbie was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). She fought this terrible disease with unbelievable strength and courage. To the amazement of her classmates and professors, she still attended classes as long as physically possible, even during her weakening treatments. On December 30, 2000, surrounded by her family, Debbie lost her battle to IBC.

        Shortly after Debbie passed away, her husband and other family members, decided to create the Debbie Strange-Browne Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory. Our goals with this foundation are to help the medically underserved with IBC, promote public awareness of IBC, and advance research on IBC so that this deadly disease can be eradicated. We hope to accomplish this through corporate and personal donations, fundraisers, and the help of people like you.
